I love a good quote that is punchy, pithy and to the point.

Here's a few of my favorites:

"The world is what it is, and men who are nothing, who allow themselves to become nothing, have no place in it" - - V.S. Naipul from his brilliant novel "A Bend in the River"

"I don't create controversies. They're there long before I open my mouth. I just bring them to your attention" - -Charles Barkley

"It s no use carrying an umbrella if your shoes are leaking." -- Irish proverb

"Too often, we lose sight of lifes simple pleasures. Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown, BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother.... upside the head. Pass it on..." -- Anonymous

"By and large, language is a tool for concealing the truth." -- George Carlin

"The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is, and the future less resolved than it will be" -- Marcel Pagnol

"Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first."  - - Mark Twain

"If you're fortunate to live a long life, you're gonna be old for a hell of a lot longer time than you're gonna be young. You'd better get used to it."
- - Mike Ochs 2009

My favorite Humphrey Bogart quotes:

"The only good reason to have money is this: so that you can tell any SOB in the world to go to hell."

"I hate funerals. They aren't for the guy who's dead. They're for the guys who are left alive and enjoy mourning."

"The whole world is three drinks behind. If everybody in the world would take three drinks, we would have no trouble."
